Rowanberry Liqueur
The perfect rowanberry liqueur recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 160 g Frozen rowan berries
- 0,7 liter Double grain 38%
- 100 g Rock sugar brown
- 0,333333 Pc. Cinnamon stick
- 0,333333 Pc. Vanilla pod
- 1 Pc. Orange peel
- 1 Pc. Lemon peel
- 1 Pink Star anise
- 1 Pc. Clove
- Harvest rowanberries, strip from the panicles, preferably with a fork. Freeze. About 1 week
- Fill the fruit into a bottle, add the remaining ingredients. Pour the double grain over it and let it steep for 12 weeks, moving it every now and then.
- Strain the berries through a sieve.
- Now the taste can be adjusted with sugar syrup. (That is sugar + water in equal parts boiled, cooled)
- Unfortunately, it is not yet ready for Christmas! A maturation period of 6 months should be.
