Rowanberry Liqueur

The perfect rowanberry liqueur recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 160 g Frozen rowan berries
  • 0,7 liter Double grain 38%
  • 100 g Rock sugar brown
  • 0,333333 Pc. Cinnamon stick
  • 0,333333 Pc. Vanilla pod
  • 1 Pc. Orange peel
  • 1 Pc. Lemon peel
  • 1 Pink Star anise
  • 1 Pc. Clove
  1. Harvest rowanberries, strip from the panicles, preferably with a fork. Freeze. About 1 week
  2. Fill the fruit into a bottle, add the remaining ingredients. Pour the double grain over it and let it steep for 12 weeks, moving it every now and then.
  3. Strain the berries through a sieve.
  4. Now the taste can be adjusted with sugar syrup. (That is sugar + water in equal parts boiled, cooled)
  5. Unfortunately, it is not yet ready for Christmas! A maturation period of 6 months should be.
