Russian Applecake
The perfect russian applecake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the dough:
- 250 g Butter
- 200 g Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 250 g Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 tbsp Cocoa
- 100 g Ground hazelnuts
- 4 Apples
- 2 tbsp Rum
For dusting:
- Powdered sugar
For the dough:
- Put the butter, sugar and eggs in a mixing bowl and beat until frothy.
- Mix the flour and baking powder, sieve, add and stir.
- Add cinnamon, salt, cocoa and hazelnuts and stir in.
- Peel and core the apples and cut into small pieces.
- Pour the rum over the apples, then add the apples to the batter and fold in.
- Put the dough in a springform pan and smooth it out.
- Bake at 175 degrees for about 60 minutes.
For dusting:
- Sift some powdered sugar over the dough after it has cooled down.
