Russian minced meat stew

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 4 onions
  • 1 ½ kg minced meat, half and half
  • 3 stalk(s) leeks
  • 2 packs of tomatoes, pureed (400 g each)
  • 500 ml meat broth
  • 1 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • 450 g sour cream
  • Oil for frying
  • Paprika powder
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely dice 2 onions and slice the other 2. Wash the leek and slice it into rings. Brown the diced onions in hot fat. Then add the minced meat and fry until crumbly. Add the remaining onions and the leek to the minced meat along with the passata, meat broth, mustard, and seasonings and bring to a boil. Then simmer for 15 minutes over low heat, stirring frequently. Just before serving, stir in the sour cream or sour cream and season to taste. Side dishes: pasta, rice, croquettes.
