Sage Meat Rolls

The perfect sage meat rolls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Minced meat half beef half pork
  • 1 small Chopped onion very finely
  • 2 Toes Garlic chopped very finely
  • 2 tbsp Parsley chopped very finely
  • 2 Eggs
  • 50 g Breadcrumbs
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 0,5 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 0,5 tsp Sage leaves fresh
  • 0,5 tsp Serano ham slices
  • Wooden skewers / toothpicks
  • Olive oil
  1. Preheat the oven to 120 degrees circulating air.
  2. Thoroughly mix the minced meat with the very finely chopped onion and the very finely chopped garlic, the egg, the spices (salt, pepper, paprika), the parsley and the breadcrumbs.
  3. Wash the * sage leaves and pat dry with kitchen paper. Weigh out 50 gram portions from the meat mass and form rolls. Similar to Ćevapčići. Rolls should be about 8 cm long and 3 cm thick.
  4. Cover each roll with 1 * sage leaf (if you love sage or the sage leaves are too small, 2 leaves are also possible.) Wrap each one with 1 slice of Serano ham and fix with a wooden skewer.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a large pan and fry the rolls in it for approx. 5 minutes.
  6. Place the rolls in a baking dish and cook in the oven for another 15 minutes.
  7. Goes well with a Spanish tomato sauce (Spanish tomato sauce with sherry) and white bread or rice.
