Salanova – Leafy Lettuce Variety

Salanova – a name that stands for crisp freshness, good taste, and maximum consumer-friendliness. Salanova is multi-leaf lettuce that has two to four times as many leaves as regular lettuce. The leaves are tender and almost all the same size, and they also have a mild taste.

Origin

Salanova is a new breed. The goal was to be able to serve a salad in bite-sized pieces quickly and without cutting. Many of the usual Salanova brand lettuce varieties (e.g. Salanova Crispy) are offered in this form.

Season

Salanova is offered throughout the year, in Germany the season is from June to September.

Use

Salanova has a unique property: it is very easy to prepare. The many leaves are close together on the stem. Cut out the stalk with one snip and all the leaves of the lettuce will fall apart to a uniform size. Wash, done!

Storage/shelf life

It is best to store Salanova wrapped in a damp cloth in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator. When stored correctly, the lettuce stays crisp and fresh for much longer than other varieties.
