Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g margarine or butter, soft
  • 225 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt, flavoring (lemon flavor), a few drops
  • 5 eggs
  • 125 g flour (wheat flour)
  • 125 g cornstarch
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Fat and flour for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

To prepare, preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease and flour the loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with a whisk until smooth. Gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and flavoring, stirring until the mixture forms a thick batter. Beat in each egg on high for about half a minute. Mix the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder, sift, and mix briefly in two batches on medium speed. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smooth it out, and place the pan on a rack in the oven. After 15-20 minutes of baking, cut a 1cm deep cut lengthwise down the center of the cake with a sharp knife to create a nice crack. Continue baking at a lower temperature for 40-45 minutes. Let the cake stand in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack. For the icing, coarsely chop the chocolate and melt it with the oil in a water bath over low heat, stirring continuously. Cover the cooled cake with the chocolate and let it set.
