Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 pieces of bratwurst (grilled sausage)
  • 200 g sauerkraut, cooked and seasoned
  • 1 tbsp oil (rapeseed oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Bratwurst with sauerkraut

Make 10 diagonal cuts on the convex side of the bratwurst, but do not cut all the way through. The cut should be about one-third through. Heat a large frying pan (28cm diameter) on the stove, add the oil, and heat until hot. Add the sausages to the hot fat. Be careful, they will splash a lot for the first minute, as the water in the sausages can evaporate immediately. Keep a safe distance, use long tongs, and use a splash guard if necessary. The bratwursts will curl up after turning, forming a circle. Place these circles on a platter, fill with the warmed-up sauerkraut, and serve. Serve with fried potatoes or mashed potatoes.
