Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 sausages
- 4 pointed peppers
- 200 g cherry tomatoes
- 500 g mushrooms
- 1 ½ m.-sized onion(s)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup of cream
- 1 shot of Metaxa
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Salt
- pepper
- Paprika powder, sweet
- BBQ spice mix
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 dash of ketchup (BBQ ketchup)
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Slice the sausages and fry in the pan until well browned. Remove the sausage slices from the pan. Dice the onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Slice the mushrooms. Quarter the cherry tomatoes. Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the bell peppers and cherry tomatoes to the pan and stir briefly, then sprinkle over the spoonful of sugar. Stir everything well until the sugar is caramelized. Deglaze with the Metaxa. Now add the mushrooms and stir well until cooked to the desired size. Then add the cream and garlic. Bring to a boil, add the fried sausages, and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and a little tomato paste. Serve with potatoes or pasta.
