Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 150 g sauerkraut from the can
- 50 g apple juice
- 1 tbsp, heaped apple, very finely diced
- ½ bay leaf
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp cream
- 2 sausages
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp, heaped sour cherries, fresh, frozen or from the jar
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, dark
- 1 tsp honey
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Season the sauerkraut with salt and pepper, add the apple juice, apple pieces, and bay leaf, and cook for about 15 minutes. Then remove the bay leaf and stir in the cream. Slice the sausage with a sharp knife. Heat oil in a pan and brown the sausage slices on both sides. Add the cherries to the pan and deglaze with balsamic vinegar and honey. Heat everything thoroughly. Place the sauerkraut on a plate, arrange the sausage slices on top, and scatter the cherries over the top. Pour the pan juices over the cherries. Serve with pasta.
