Sausages with Sauerkraut
The perfect sausages with sauerkraut recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Apple boskop
- 1 Fresh shallot
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 Can Sauerkraut drained
- 200 g Mixed with bacon, sliced
- 1 Bay leaf
- 3 piece Juniper berries
- 600 g Rostbratwurst
- Parsley
- Salt and pepper
- Peel the apple, cut in half and remove the core. Cut the apple into large pieces. Peel the shallot and cut into small cubes. Also cut the bacon into small cubes.
- Heat the oil in a large one, sauté the shallot and apple in it. Add the cabbage, bacon, spices and about 100 ml water. Let everything simmer over a low heat for about 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Fry the grilled sausages in a pan until golden brown. Arrange sauerkraut and sausages on plates and serve sprinkled with parsley if you like, with mashed potatoes.
