Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 slices of white or mixed bread, stale, approx. 150 g
- 1 shallot(s)
- 15 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp cheese, savory, grated
- 2 tbsp chives
- nutmeg
- salt and pepper
- some clarified butter for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the bread slices into cubes. Peel and finely dice the shallot. Fry both in the heated butter until golden brown. Whisk the eggs and milk with the spices in a bowl, add the bread and shallot mixture, the cheese, and a tablespoon of chives. Mix everything together and season to taste. The mixture should be moist but still pliable. Form three patties (like meatballs) and fry them in the heated clarified butter until golden brown on both sides. Sprinkle with the remaining chives and serve. Serve with a salad and/or a dip.
