Waffles with a difference
Mix the first five ingredients for the batter into a batter. Now add the diced ham, cucumber, and onion and season to taste. You can add the garlic if desired. Immediately bake the batter in batches in the waffle iron until golden brown and serve while still warm. It goes well with bruschetta. Tip: The spices are very easy to vary – try oregano, thyme, or wild garlic. We’ve also separated the eggs. First, beat the egg yolks until frothy, then fold the stiffly beaten egg whites into the batter. Alternatively, the batter can be made with cheese instead of ham, gherkin, and onion.
