Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 170 g flour
  • 80 g butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 kg onion(s)
  • 50 g lard
  • 200 g bacon, lean
  • 100 g quark
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ liter cream
  • 100 g flour
  • salt and pepper
  • Garlic
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Dough: Combine flour, butter, salt, egg, and water to make a dough. Filling: Slice the onions and fry them in the lard with the diced bacon. Whisk together the quark, eggs, and cream. Stir in the sifted flour, then the onions and bacon, and season the mixture with salt, pepper, and garlic. Line a 26cm tart pan with a removable ring with the dough. Prick the bottom with a fork. Pour the filling into the pan and place the onion tart in the preheated oven. Bake at 200°C for 35 minutes.
