Savoy cabbage, sophisticated and simple

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ head of savoy cabbage, cut into fine strips
  • 1 onion(s), red, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 100 ml white wine
  • 100 ml cream
  • 250 g jacket potatoes from the previous day, peeled, cut into small pieces
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • possibly garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

ideal side dish for pan-fried dishes (steak, pork fillet, chop)

Lightly fry the onion cubes, add the savoy cabbage strips, and sauté briefly. Sprinkle with sugar, caramelize, and deglaze with wine. Allow the liquid to evaporate, then pour in the cream and season. Add the finely chopped potatoes, seasoned with salt and pepper, and mix well. Cover and simmer briefly. Season to taste and serve as a hearty side dish with pan-fried dishes (e.g., veggie burgers, meatballs, or meat).
