Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 875 g savoy cabbage
  • 700 g potatoes
  • 6 Mettenden
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp white pepper, ground
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Remove the outer, wilted leaves from the savoy cabbage. Cut the rest into strips and then into small, bite-sized pieces. Peel the potatoes, dice them, and place them in water. Drain the potatoes, place them in a large pot, and cover with water. Place the savoy cabbage on top. Spread the mettenden sausages on top of the cabbage. Simmer the ingredients for 30 minutes, then reduce the heat until only a little liquid remains. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then plate and serve. If you omit the sausage, the dish is vegetarian.
