Scientists Explain the Dangers of Not Eating Breakfast

A very important answer to the burning question is what dangers are posed to the human body by a complete refusal to eat breakfast. People who skip breakfast risk facing a dangerous phenomenon – a lack of important nutrients.

Experts studied information about 30889 Americans aged 19 and older who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2005 to 2016. As part of the experiment, the volunteers had to make round-the-clock reports on their meals: they noted whether it was a snack or a full meal, and also indicated the time. In this way, experts found out who had breakfast and who refused to eat in the morning.

Scientists found that 15.2% of participants, or 4924 people, refused to eat breakfast. The experts calculated the approximate number of nutrients for a person based on the data on meals. They compared the results with the recommendations of the Food and Nutrition Board of the US National Academy of Sciences.
