Scottish Butter Cookies
The perfect scottish butter cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Butter
- 200 g Brown sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 375 g Flour
- Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and flour with the kneading stick of the mixer. Then knead into a crumbly dough with your hands.
- Shape into 2cm thick rolls and leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours, or better overnight.
- Take the rolls out of the fridge and roll them in brown sugar.
- Cut the rolls into approx. 5 mm thick slices and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Bake in a preheated rack oven at 170 ° C for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Place on a wire rack to cool down. Be careful, the brown sugar gets very hot.
