Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 300 g seitan
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- 2 bell peppers
- 2 can/n tomatoes, diced (400 g each)
- 300 ml vegetable stock
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp agave syrup or brown cane sugar
- 1 tbsp, sautéed caraway seeds
- 1 tbsp, sautéed marjoram
- 1 tbsp, crushed paprika powder, sweet
- salt and pepper
- some oil for frying
- 1 tbsp parsley
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
vegan goulash made from seitan
Slice the onion and bell pepper, and slice the seitan. Sauté in oil over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add the tomato paste and agave syrup and let it caramelize (takes 1-2 minutes). Add the chopped tomatoes, vegetable stock, caraway seeds, paprika, marjoram, and parsley, and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
