Senate Beef with Peppers and Onions
The perfect senate beef with peppers and onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Can Canned beef in its own juice
- 1 Red pepper
- 1 Green pepper
- 4 Onions
- 1 bag Rice parboiled
- Sweet paprika
- Salt pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcester sauce
Explanation:
- In Berlin, until the 1970s, the Senate offered canned beef at a very low price. That’s why people used to buy these cans when they wanted to eat meat and money was tight (so did my parents). Hence the saying “poor people’s food”. Doesn’t have to be rated either.
Preparation:
- Very important: Open the can – grin – !!!! Halve and core the peppers and cut out the partitions. Rinse with cold water, cut into small pieces.
- Peel the onion, cut in half and cut into fine half rings.
Preparation:
- Put the meat with its own juice and fat in a pan and chop (high heat). Fry well and reduce the heat.
- Add the onion rings and fry with them.
- Now add the peppers and let everything cook through. Stir often.
- Season well with the spices.
- In the meantime, cook the rice for 10 minutes and serve with the pan.
