Shards
The perfect shards recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 100 g Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 3 Pc. Eggs
- 125 g Butter
- 3 tbsp Rum
- Lemon juice
- Lemon zest
- Frying fat (mainly vegetable fat)
- Powdered sugar
- Make a kneading dough from the ingredients, except for the frying fat and powdered sugar. Then chill for approx. 1 hour. Roll out the dough very thinly and cut it into strips with a pastry cutter and deep-fry it for about 30 seconds, then turn it over with a fork. The shards must not get too dark. Then dust with powdered sugar.
