Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into cubes
  • 800 g pork, cut into cubes
  • 300 g bacon, cut into cubes
  • 3 large onions, quartered
  • 650 g tomatoes, chopped, from the can
  • 1 liter of Coke
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 5 tsp tomato paste
  • 3 tsp curry powder
  • 3 tsp vegetable broth, instant
  • 3 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar, dark
  • 2 tsp soy sauce, sweet
  • 3 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 30 minutes

Simmer the canned tomatoes and cola for 2 hours and reduce the heat. Thread the meat pieces, bacon, onions, and pepper pieces alternately onto the skewers. Roast the skewers in a large dish without sauce and uncovered for 1 hour at 160°C fan-assisted oven. Once the sauce has reduced, add all the other ingredients to the sauce. Crush the garlic cloves beforehand. Remove the dish from the oven and pour the juices into the sauce. Then spread the sauce over the skewers. Cover and place in the oven at 140°C fan-assisted oven for 2 hours.
