How long does mulled wine last?
The alcohol content of the mulled wine is decisive for the shelf life.
- A mulled wine with an alcohol content of 12% or more has a high acid content. The drink has a longer shelf life because the acid binds bacteria.
- If you store closed bottles in a cool and dark place, alcoholic mulled wine will keep for 5-6 years.
- According to the law, alcohol-free mulled wine must have a best-before date. Usually, this is 2-3 years.
- Open bottles, whether with or without alcohol, should be kept in the refrigerator and consumed within a week.
