Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion(s), sliced
- 2 m.-sized carrot(s), cut into pieces
- 500 g minced lamb or beef
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 500 ml meat broth
- 900 g potatoes
- salt water
- 85 g butter
- 5 tbsp milk
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Sauté the carrots and onion for a few minutes until soft. Then add the mince and fry until crispy. Then add the tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce and fry briefly. Add the meat broth, cover, and simmer for about 40 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 160°C (fan oven) and prepare the mashed potatoes. Boil the peeled and sliced potatoes in salted water until tender. Then puree them and add the butter and milk. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. After 40 minutes, transfer the minced meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes over the top. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, until the mashed potatoes have browned.
