Ingredients for 4 servings:
- ½ bottle of ketchup (shashlik), optionally more
- 250 g onion(s)
- 500 g bell pepper(s)
- 12 bratwursts, Nuremberg sausages
- curry powder
- Paprika powder
- e.g. chili pepper(s)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Cut the onions into eighths and the bell peppers into large chunks. Mix with the ketchup in a large pot or casserole dish. Season with curry powder and paprika. If you like it a bit spicier, you can also add a few chilies. Arrange the sausages on top. Cover and simmer in the pot over low heat for about an hour. Cook in the oven at 180°C on medium heat for about an hour. The dish is ready as soon as the sausages are cooked through. If you like your vegetables crunchy, you can shorten the cooking time. Rice goes wonderfully with this dish.
