Danish pastries
Thaw the puff pastry and roll out to a thickness of about 1 cm. Cut out circles with a diameter of about 6 cm and roll them out into 12 cm long shoe soles (ovals). Turn them over once and press them into the sugar. Place them on a baking tray rinsed with cold water, unsweetened side down, and let them rest for 15 minutes. Bake at 180°C for about 10 minutes, until they crisp up and have taken on some color. If desired, whip the cream and refine it with sugar. Spread it on the underside of one shoe sole and place another on top. If you like, you can also choose a different filling, e.g. cocoa cream, honey and nut puree, fruit + cream, nougat cream, jam, or you can simply enjoy it on its own without the filling. If you like, you can also try sugaring both sides or using regular sugar on the underside. The sky is the limit!
