Simple goulash soup

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g pork (e.g. roast ham)
  • 500 g beef (e.g. from a young bull)
  • 4 bell peppers, mixed
  • 3 onions
  • 3 small cans of tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 ½ liters of broth
  • ½ tube(s) tomato paste
  • lots of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp, heaped paprika powder, hot
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

Cut the meat into small cubes and sear them. Meanwhile, roughly dice the onions and add them along with the sliced ​​bell peppers. Sauté briefly, season with salt and paprika, and add the canned tomatoes, followed by the broth. Simmer with the lid on for 1-1.5 hours, until the meat is tender. Now add the tomato paste and cook until the desired consistency is reached. Season to taste with salt, cayenne pepper, and sugar. Homemade white bread goes wonderfully with this dish.
