Simple Irish Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 m.-sized potatoes
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 can of corn without water
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 100 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Boil potatoes until soft. Mash with margarine, sour cream, and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, sauté the finely chopped garlic and onion until translucent. Add the ground beef and fry. Season with paprika. Layer the mashed potatoes, corn, ground beef, and cheese on top in a casserole dish. Bake in the oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. Serve with a green salad, white bread, and a beer.
