Casserole of mashed potatoes and minced meat, France

Wash and peel the potatoes and boil for 30 minutes. Chop the onion and fry with 10g of butter. Mix the minced meat, onion, parsley, and egg well, season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Mash the potatoes into a mash, stirring in a little of the cooking water to make it spreadable (you can also use milk). Season the mash with salt and pepper, add nutmeg, stir in the remaining butter, and mix well. Pour half of the mash into a greased baking dish. Pour the minced meat mixture over it, sprinkle with half of the cheese. Pour the remaining mash over it, and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Serve with a salad. This recipe is perfect for using up leftovers (and that’s how it was made). Leftover meat, minced meat, and potatoes make a delicious dish.
