Simple minced meat sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • 2 onions
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Water
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 bay leaves, dried
  • n. B. Herbs, Italian, mixed
  • n. B. water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

First, peel and chop the onions. Peel and crush the garlic or cut into pieces. Heat the oil in a pan and add the minced meat, garlic, and onions. Once the mince is fried, add the tomato paste and immediately deglaze with water (guideline: for 1 can of tomato paste, I use about 1-2 cans of water). Stir everything well and season with salt, pepper, and your choice of Italian herbs. Add the bay leaves and simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally and add more water and tomato paste if needed. The sauce goes well with all kinds of pasta and, with béchamel sauce and cheese, also makes a delicious lasagna.
