Simple potato gratin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 200 ml cream
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 150 g grated cheese, e.g. Emmental or Gruyère
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

made quickly

Peel and wash the potatoes, and slice them thinly, ideally using a food processor. Layer the slices in a large, shallow baking dish, seasoning with salt as needed. Mix the cream with the crushed or finely chopped garlic, salt, and pepper, and spread evenly over the potatoes. Finally, sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a hot oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 45 minutes. This goes very well with lamb chops and a green salad. Served as a side dish, the gratin will naturally feed more people; we always eat it as a main course with minimal additions.
