Simply perfect delicious rice

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Wash the rice thoroughly. Let it soak in the water for about 1/2 to 1 hour. This will make the rice softer and larger, so it won’t take as long to cook. It will also taste fluffy and light. Bring the water, rice, oil, and salt to a boil in a pot. Add the vinegar and stir. The vinegar prevents the rice from sticking and makes it fluffy and aromatic. Once boiling, reduce the heat by half. Cover and let it steam for about 5 to 10 minutes. The rice is ready when you see holes from the steam in the rice, it is fluffy, and the water has evaporated. This is a basic recipe for one to two people. Double the quantity if needed.
