Six-hour leg of lamb

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g onion(s), quartered
  • 1 ½ kg leg of lamb
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 bunch of thyme
  • 1 can/n tomatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • Sugar
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 hours; Total time approx. 6 hours 15 minutes

Rub the meat with spices, season with salt, and brown in oil. Add the onions, tomatoes, and garlic and bring to a boil. Cover the pot and cook in the oven at 100°C (212°F) for about 6 hours (an extra 5 minutes doesn’t really matter). Season the broth with salt, pepper, and sugar. Tip: You can also add peeled potatoes and/or vegetables (beans, zucchini, etc.) at some point during the cooking process and let them cook along with the meat.
