Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 kg gyro-style strips, seasoned
- 500 g mushrooms
- 3 bell peppers, red
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 bunch of spring onions
- 6 tomatoes
- pepper
- Paprika powder, sweet
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
with mushrooms, peppers, spring onions and tomatoes, simple and quick
Brown the pre-seasoned meat vigorously in a large pan. Finely chop the mushrooms and add them to the meat. Then finely chop the bell peppers and fry them. Once everything is well seared, add the cream and season with pepper and paprika. I omit the salt, as the pre-seasoned meat is salty enough for me. Simmer everything over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes. Then add the spring onions and tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes. If the sauce is too thin, you can thicken it with a roux or a light sauce thickener. We like to serve it with rice.
