Smoked pork slices with pineapple

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g smoked pork, boneless
  • 1 tbsp mustard (Dijon)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 slice(s) pineapple, fresh or from the can
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • Pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Cut the smoked pork into 4 slices. Spread the slices thinly with mustard. Heat the oil in a pan, add the slices, and sear for 5 minutes on each side. Place the pineapple slices on top of the meat, cover the pan, and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until tender. Arrange the meat and pineapple on plates. If desired, mix the meat juices with cornstarch and cream, or pour them over the meat. Season to taste with freshly ground pepper. Serve with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, and farmhouse bread.
