Smoked pork with radish

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 pieces of smoked pork (150 g each)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp vegetable broth (instant)
  • 125 ml wheat beer
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 small radish(s), white
  • 2 pretzels (lye pretzels)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Wash the smoked pork and pat dry. Peel and roughly dice the onions. Heat oil in a pan and sear the smoked pork on both sides over high heat, then finish cooking for 4-5 minutes on each side over medium heat. Remove the smoked pork and keep warm. Sauté the onions in the hot frying fat. Sprinkle with flour and sauté briefly. Add 1/8 l water and wheat flour, bring to a boil while stirring, then stir in the stock. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 5 minutes. Clean and peel the radish. Cut into large spirals using a spiral peeler or into thin slices with a knife. Stir mustard into the onion sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Serve the smoked pork with onion sauce, radish, and pretzels.
