Snack Eyes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry
  • 5 eggs, hard-boiled
  • 3 black pitted olives
  • 2 tbsp mustard

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Egg of the Teiger

Roll out the puff pastry and cut out 10 rectangles. Shape each rectangle into a boat/eye by folding the edges. Bake the eyes in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15-20 minutes. While the eggs are baking, boil and cool the eggs, then peel and cut them in half lengthwise. Quarter the olives lengthwise. Pierce the top of the egg half with a round skewer to create a hole the size of your little finger, then insert the olive quarter into this to form the pupil. Once the puff pastry eyes are ready and cooled, use a knife to slightly expose the center of the pastry, spread a little mustard on the inside, and insert the egg halves into the puff pastry eye. Serve – done. Best arranged in the shape of a face, perhaps with the remaining olives. There are no limits to creativity here.
