Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 3 chocolate bars (Snickers, 50 g each)
- 0.35 liters of milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 200 g cream
- 1 tsp, heaped vanilla flavor, sweetened, e.g. vanilla baking
- 100 g sugar, fine
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
for the ice cream machine
Place the Snickers in the refrigerator the day before so they can be cut into smaller pieces. Cut two of the chilled bars into small pieces. Gently heat the milk and slowly dissolve the pieces, stirring constantly. Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla powder until frothy. Then carefully stir the mixture into the milk. To kill salmonella and other germs, heat the milk again to approximately 75-80°C. Then set aside so the mixture can cool. Whip the cream until almost stiff peaks form and stir into the cooled milk. Place the finished ice cream mixture in the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour or in the freezer for 15 minutes. Once cooled, pour it into the ice cream maker and run for approximately 45-50 minutes. After approximately 30 minutes, add the last chocolate bar, also cut into small pieces, to the ice cream mixture. This creates delicious chunks in the ice cream. Fresh from the maker, the ice cream is very soft. If you prefer it a little firmer, you can put it in the freezer for a while.
