Cranberry sorbet with vodka

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 100 ml orange juice
  • 300 ml juice (cranberry juice, alternatively cherry juice)
  • 30 ml vodka
  • 1 egg white
  • possibly berries and
  • Mint for decoration

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 20 minutes

Freeze overnight

Boil the sugar with water and lemon juice, then let it cool. Combine the orange juice with the cranberry juice, vodka, and the sugar syrup. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold in. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and freeze overnight. Stir occasionally for the first 2-3 hours. To serve: Stir the sorbet thoroughly and pour into tall glasses. Garnish with berries and mint, if desired.
