Snow White Quark Cake

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 150 g margarine
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp Nutella
  • 1 jar sour cherries
  • 250 g quark
  • 200 g cream
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 point cream stiffener
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pkt. cake glaze, red
  • 250 ml juice (cherry juice, best collected from the cherries in the jar)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

For the dough, mix margarine, sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs until fluffy. Add milk. Mix together baking powder and flour and stir in. Grease a springform pan (26cm diameter) and pour half of the dough into it. Stir the Nutella into the other half and spread it on the light dough. Drain the sour cherries and spread it on the dough. Collect the juice! Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 200°C / Gas Mark 4. Allow to cool. Whip the cream with vanilla sugar and cream stiffener until stiff, add the quark and sugar. Spread on the cooled base. Prepare the cake glaze with cherry juice according to the package instructions, adding more sugar if necessary. (It says so on the package) Pour the glaze onto the quark mixture and allow to cool.
