Sour Cherry – Chocolate Cake

The perfect sour cherry – chocolate cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Butter or margarine
  • 4 Eggs
  • 180 g Sugar
  • 100 g Nut nougat cream
  • 125 g Ground hazelnuts
  • 4 tbsp Rum
  • 150 g Chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 180 g Flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 glass Sour cherries
  • **********
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Drain sour cherries and drain well
  2. Beat the margarine, eggs and sugar until frothy
  3. 3 … stir in the nut nougat cream, nuts, rum, chocolate sprinkles and cinnamon one after the other
  4. 4 … finally stir in the flour mixed with baking powder
  5. Grease a ring cake tin and crumble it if necessary …… fill in a third of the batter and cover with a few cherries, distribute the 2nd third of batter on top and cover with cherries again ….. Put the rest of the batter on the cherries and smooth out
  6. Bake the cake over medium heat for approx. 50 – 60 minutes.
  7. After cooling, dust with powdered sugar.
  8. Tip 8: the cake can also be baked wonderfully in a springform pan … then simply fill in the dough, smooth it out and cover with the drained cherries. Bake as indicated above.
