Spaghetti and tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g spaghetti
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 200 g diced ham
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • some oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tube(s) Tomato paste, 3-fold concentrated
  • 700 ml water
  • 1 cube of meat broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • some pepper
  • e.g. basil, chopped
  • 1 dash of cream or milk
  • e.g. paprika powder
  • e.g. oregano
  • e.g. rosemary

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

For the sauce, first sauté the onion, ham, and garlic in oil. Then stir in the tomato paste. Add the flour, stir through, and top up with water. Add the spices and herbs and bring back to a boil. Finally, add a splash of cream or milk and stir through. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Tip: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the spaghetti with sauce, if desired.
