Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 80 g onion(s), diced
  • 5 ml olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove(s), or two, finely diced
  • 400 ml canned tomato(s) , pureed
  • 40 g tomato paste
  • 1 carrot(s), diced, grated or pureed
  • 250 ml broth
  • ½ bay leaf
  • ½ g marjoram
  • ½ g thyme
  • 1 g pepper
  • 5 g salt
  • 5 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

In a large pot, sauté the onions with olive oil. Crumble the minced meat over the meat and brown it. Deglaze with the tomatoes, stock, and tomato paste, then add the garlic and carrot. Grind half a bay leaf with salt and sugar in a mortar and pestle until powdered, then add the remaining spices (marjoram, thyme, pepper). Cover and simmer for at least an hour before serving with cooked spaghetti.
