Spaghetti with tomato sauce, hunting sausage, pickles and mushrooms

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g hunting sausage
  • 5 gherkins
  • 1 can of mushrooms
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 slice(s) cheese, I prefer sandwich cheese
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Thyme
  • basil
  • oregano
  • chili powder
  • Paprika powder, hot
  • 250g spaghetti

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

In a hot pan, I sear the diced Jagdwurst sausage; it should be evenly golden brown. Then I add the mushrooms and fry them. Then I add the diced cucumbers and onions. I sear over medium heat until everything has taken on some color, then add the cheese and melt it in the pan. Once the cheese has melted, I add the tomato ketchup to the pan and reduce the heat to low. A splash of pickle juice from the pickle jar adds additional flavor. Now I add the herb mixture. If I don’t have fresh ones, I use the dried spices from the glass shaker. I add a little of each to taste and then mix everything together. If you prefer it spicy, you can also add sambal oelek. While the noodles are being rinsed and the table is being set, the sauce simmers. The noodles, which have been cooked in salted water in the meantime, are rinsed and served with the sauce. If desired, grated cheese can be added to the plate.
