Tortellini casserole with mushrooms

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 75 g butter or margarine
  • 50 g flour
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt
  • 500g tortellini
  • 500 g mushrooms
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 200 g ham, cooked (if required)
  • 150 g peas (frozen)
  • 75 g cheese (Gouda)
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

with ham or vegetarian without ham

Heat the butter or margarine and sauté the flour in it. Deglaze with milk and bring to a boil while stirring. Add the bay leaf and simmer for about 10 minutes. Season with salt and cayenne pepper. Pre-cook the tortellini in plenty of salted water for about 10 minutes. Clean and slice the mushrooms. Peel the onions and dice them. Heat the oil in a pan and add the mushrooms and onions. Sauté everything thoroughly and season with salt and pepper, then set aside. Dice the ham (omit for a vegetarian version). Mix with the tortellini, mushrooms, peas, and sauce and pour into a greased baking dish. Grate the cheese and sprinkle over the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 45-60 minutes. Serve immediately.
