Spelt and walnut bread

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g spelt flour
  • ½ cube of yeast
  • ½ tsp honey
  • 65 g butter, melted
  • 100 ml water, warm
  • 200 ml milk, warm
  • 1 pinch(s) bread spice mix
  • 10 g salt
  • 200 g walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • Flour, for dusting
  • 35 g butter, melted, for spreading

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 55 minutes

For a 1 kg loaf, approximately 12 slices. Combine spelt flour with yeast, honey, water, milk, and butter. Stir in salt and bread spice. Let rise for approximately 40 minutes. Knead thoroughly again. Fold the flour-dusted walnuts into the dough. Preheat oven to 200°C. Pour the dough into a loaf pan and let it rise until it has doubled in size. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes. When the time is up, brush with the remaining butter and bake for another 10 minutes.
