Spelt toast bread

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 250 g spelt wholemeal flour, finely ground
  • 250 g spelt, crushed
  • 1 packet of yeast (dry yeast 10g)
  • 400 ml milk, slightly warmed
  • 50 g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt well. Then add the melted butter and lukewarm milk and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. After the resting time, knead again and pour into a greased loaf pan and let rise for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 160°C. Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for about 1 hour. Tastes delicious toasted for breakfast! Tip: You can also use 500g of finely ground spelt instead of the spelt meal.
