Spice Cake from Tray
The perfect spice cake from tray recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 4 Pc. Eggs
- 150 g Soft butter or margarine
- 250 g Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 3 tsp Ginger bread spice
- 1 tsp Ground carnations
- 200 g Ground hazelnuts
- 350 g Flour
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 20 g Cocoa powder
- 250 ml Milk or buttermilk
- Mix the eggs, butter, sugar and vanilla sugar on a high level with the hand mixer until foamy. Stir in honey, gingerbread spice and cloves.
- Mix the hazelnuts, flour, baking powder and cocoa powder and mix in briefly alternately with the milk on a low level.
- Spread the liquid sticky dough on a normal sized baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack at 180 – 200 degrees for about 20 minutes. But I would rather bake at 180 degrees because it has become almost too dry for me at 200 degrees. But that depends on the performance of the oven.
- Cover the cooled cake with a chocolate icing or icing sugar icing, if you like.
