Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 roll(s) XXL pizza dough
- 100 g Gruyère
- 175 g Bavaria blu
- 200 g Limburger
- 1 egg(s), size M
- e.g. chili powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Preheat the oven to 220°C (top/bottom heat). Cut the pizza dough lengthwise into 3 equal strips. Cut the cheese into strips and spread them on the strips of dough. Fold each strip closed and press the ends firmly together. Place the dough rolls seam-down and braid them. Place the braid on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Beat the egg and brush it over the braid. Sprinkle with a little chili powder. Bake the cheese braid in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 30 minutes. Let it cool slightly on a wire rack. Tip: Tastes best lukewarm.
