Spicy Chicken Wings in Balinese BBQ Sauce

The perfect spicy chicken wings in balinese bbq sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the chicken wings:

  • 12 Chicken wings from the package (upper and lower arm mixed), frozen
  • 2 liter Peanut oil, refined

For the BBQ sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Barbecue sauce, smoky, (e.g. Jay’s kitchen, BBQ-Saus Kansas City)
  • 2 tbsp Thai spring roll sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce, sweetie
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce, light
  • 4 tbsp Mango juice
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice, fresher
  • 3 tbsp Balinese mango syrup ala Ayu (URL see step 4))

To garnish:

  • 3 tbsp Flowers and leaves
  1. Defrost and dry the frozen spicy chicken wings. Preheat the frying oil to 170 degrees.
  2. In the meantime, add the BBQ sauce by mixing all the ingredients in a medium-sized pan and simmering.
  3. Fry the (pre-cooked) chicken wings in about 6 minutes until light brown and add to the BBQ sauce. Drizzle with the sauce until they are evenly glazed. Distribute on the serving plates, garnish and serve as a side dish.
