Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 bunch of spring onions
- 2 long Turkish peppers
- 60 g butter
- 500 g minced meat, beef or pork
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- salt and pepper
- Pinch of allspice and cumin, ground
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 3 eggs
- 4 tbsp parsley
- 2 large dough sheets (yufka)
- 8 tbsp milk
- 200 g sheep’s cheese
- 3 tbsp oil (olive oil)
- 3 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Wash and trim the spring onions and bell peppers, then slice or dice them. Sauté the onions in 20g butter, add the bell peppers and minced meat, and fry while stirring. Add the tomato paste, salt, and spices. Stir in 2 eggs and the parsley. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Unfold the pastry sheets. Heat 40g butter and milk. Brush the dough with it. Spread the minced meat and cheese on top, roll up, and place each one next to each other in a U-shape in a greased baking dish. Whisk the remaining egg with oil, pour over the two strudels, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
